About Us

Rotary International was founded in Chicago, IL, on February 23, 1905. Today, it stands as a global network of 1.4 million members spanning 35,000 clubs. Our mission is rooted in the shared responsibility to unite and take action to create lasting change—locally, globally, and within ourselves. We focus on promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and fostering economic growth in local communities. We achieve this by serving others, promoting integrity, and advancing world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

The Rotary Club of Peachtree City, established in 1967, holds the distinction of being the oldest service club in Fayette County, with approximately 150 members.

Our club has been involved in several international projects with Rotary Clubs in Guatemala, Puerto Rico, and Africa, focusing on educational support and clean water initiatives. This year, we are excited to collaborate with Rotary Clubs in India on a global grant project dedicated to palliative care. Additionally, as part of Rotary International, our club has played a vital role in the global effort to eradicate polio, with the disease now confined to just two countries—Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Rotary International’s motto, “Service Above Self,” is a guiding principle that our members embody in every aspect of their daily lives. While financial support can have a significant impact, we are equally committed to engaging in hands-on projects with the organizations and individuals we serve.

Thanks to our past fundraising efforts, particularly through the Rotary Smart Directory, our Bourbon & Bow Ties / Pinot & Pearls (Black-Tie) and the Half Marathon & 5K, we are able to sustain our charitable giving and donations each year. Our members also consistently contribute to the Rotary Foundation, which plays a vital role in ensuring that a significant portion of the funds donated within our district are returned to support local grants and projects.

The Rotary Club of Peachtree City has been actively involved in key civic projects, including the welcome sign at the intersection of Highways 54 and 74, the construction of the Arnold Cheek Line Creek Fishing Dock, the Howard Morgan Overlook, and a historical display case at the Peachtree City Library.

As proud Rotarians, we are committed to continuing our service efforts, financial contributions, and business leadership within Fayette County and the surrounding areas.
