Author - "No Mama, I Didn't Die - My Life as a Stolen Baby"
Oct. 29, 2020 12:00 p.m.
Devereaux "Devy" Bruch Eyler grew up knowing she was adopted. But she didn't know, until she was in her 70s, that she had been stolen from her birth mother, who had been told she was dead. Devy was one of the Georgia Tann babies. From 1924 until her death in 1950, Georgia Tann operated a black-market adoption ring at the Memphis branch of the Tennessee Children's Home Society. Tann stole the babies and children from their birth families and acquired millions selling the children to couples around the US. |
